Because Jessie Reyez just gifted us with a brand-spanking’ new music video for her single, “NO ONE’S IN THE ROOM” joins the list of songs off her Target exclusive “BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US+” version of the album. This is the first time the Canadian native has surprised fans with new music like this but as a fan of Jessie Reyez, I’m not complaining.
On top of new music, she shared the video for “NO ONE’S IN THE ROOM” on September 25. The R&B singer explains the song is about “consciousness and life purpose” after she spent time questioning who she is, her life path, and what’s preventing her from reaching her higher purpose. Both the song and video address this existential question of who are we when we’re alone? With the extra time and physical space between each other that this pandemic has given us, it’s almost inevitable that thoughts like this arise.
