“Ayer pensaba que podríamos escapar, para no tenernos que ocultar, si que sientes lo mismo que yo,” the doubtful, love-hesitant lyrics that begin Vanessa Zamora’s newest single, “Ayer” vía Cosmica Records show a more vulnerable side to Zamora. The Psychedelic-pop artist basada en Tijuana, Mexico also shares the accompanying new music video as the cherry on top.
Zamora brings us a sultry new tune with feel-it-on-your-skin funky bass lines, stimulating guitar riffs, and psychedelic vocal intonations. All together taking us on a ride through her emotions and thoughts of a distant, long-ago relationship, in which she has to remind herself of her present reality; her lover has moved on to another.
The moody black and white music video shows a lone Zamora who seems lost in thought, lightly tangled in sheets, as if to represent the hold her heartbreak has on her. The video was directed by Vertov The Noise.
