Brian Opper was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. The Dr. B.B. Bippster moniker he uses is a combination of his self-appointed nickname (The Bippster) and a work around his brother used to mail him something with company supplies. Brian grew up listening to hip hop and metal and is still a fulltime metal head. While his tastes seem to mostly be stuck in the 90s, he continues to add new music to his playlist constantly.
In 2011, Brian moved to the Coachella Valley in the Southern California Desert. That is where he was first introduced to and fell in love with cumbia. As a metalhead, Brian has always heard people complain that you can’t understand they lyrics. To him, that seems sad, as if one can’t feel the emotion of the song without the benefits of knowing the lyrics, that excludes being able to listen to music from all over the world.
After getting his CTVA for Transfer degree and Radio Production Certificate from College of the Desert, Brian transferred to CSUN where, in December of 2021, he obtained his CTVA degree with an emphasis in screenwriting. In community college, he developed a radio show that combined comedy and music that he hopes to bring to a larger audience via podcast and one day, perhaps, NPR.
